W.W.II. Period Silver RAF "Signaller" Sweetheart Brooch

Attractive, W.W.II. period, sterling silver and enamel sweetheart brooch made in the form of a Royal Air Force signaller's (air crew) "half wings" badge. These brooches were known as "sweethearts" as they were purchased by airmen to give to their loved ones.

Nicely modeled wing with a blue enamel "S" within a red enamel laurel wreath. The back is stamped, "Sterling". Length : 50mm. Very good condition. RAF "half wings" sweetheart brooches are harder to come by than the pilot wings versions.
