The R-1535 Twin Wasp Jr. was Pratt & Whitney's first two row production engine and was a smaller version of the R-1830 Twin Wasp, it produced up to 825 horsepower. It was fitted to aircraft of various manufacture including Earl Ortman's famous Marcoux-Bromberg Special racing plane when it took part in the 1936 Bendix Trophy and the 1937 & 38 Thompson Trophies.
