W.W.II. Period 9ct Gold RAF "Sweetheart" Wings

Good quality W.W.II. period, solid 9ct gold sweetheart brooch in the form of a pair of RAF pilot's wings. These brooches were known as "sweethearts" as they were purchased by airmen to give to their loved ones.

Nicely modelled wings with green enamel laurel wreath and a red enamel "King's" crown. The back is stamped,"9ct". Length : 45mm. Very good condition. Comes with a period jeweller's box.
