Rare English Lindbergh/Spirit of St. Louis Pennant. 1927

Rare silk pennant specially made to welcome Captain Charles Lindbergh on his visit to England in 1927 after his famous non-stop flight across the Atlantic.
Cream silk pennant embroidered with gold silk thread. The pennant bears the image of his Ryan airplane, "The Spirit of St. Louis" and the following inscription, "Welcome Capt. Lindbergh - Spirit of St. Louis - New York-Paris 1927". Length (not including suspension chord) : 230mm. Very good condition.
Charles Lindbergh was a U.S. airmail pilot who in 1927 was the first person to fly single handed, non-stop from New York to Paris. He flew a monoplane called "The Spirit of St. Louis" which was specially built by Ryan. He departed from Long Island on May 20th and landed at Le Bourget on 21st May, 33 1/2 hours later.
