Rare brass medal made by Vaughton & Sons, Birmingham as a souvenir of the 1912 National Aerial Campaign.
The front of this medal bears the image of a Bleriot XI and a Maurice Farman Shorthorn S.7. in flight and has the maker’s name, “Vaughton, Birm”. The reverse has the following inscription, “1912 National Aerial Campaign – Britain's Future is in the Air”. Diameter : 31.5mm. Good condition (slight ageing).
The 1912 National Aerial Campaign was established to promote aviation in Britain, highlighting the benefits and the future of aerial transport.
