Unusual Vintage Gold & Jade RAF "Sweetheart" Wings

Good quality, vintage, solid high carat gold (unmarked but positively tested) sweetheart brooch in the form of a pair of RAF pilot's wings. These brooches were known as "sweethearts" as they were purchased by airmen to give to their loved ones.

Unusual, nicely modelled gold brooch, the crown and wings being inlaid with jade. Length : 54mm. Good condition (a hairline to one of the jade wing inlays). Supplied with a modern presentation box.

This brooch was most likely specially made for a member of the RAF serving in the far east.
