Beautifully made, period, scratch built model of the Royal Air Force fighter, the Hawker Fury Mk.II (also known as the Hawker Super Fury). Dating from around 1936.
This hand made model is very well
and accurately constructed from silver plated brass and depicts the aircraft in a banking
position. The model is very nicely finished, is fitted with a perspex disc
giving the impression of a propeller in motion and is mounted on a black painted
wooden base. Aircraft wingspan : 91mm (1:100 scale). Nice condition (slight wear to plating).
The Hawker Fury was a British fighter biplane used by the Royal Air Force throughout the 1930s. It was a single seat fighter version of the Hawker Hart light bomber and entered service with the RAF in 1931. The Fury MkII (fitted with a 640 hp Rolls Royce Kestrel VI engine) was brought into service in 1936 and was developed from the 'High Speed Fury' trials and test aircraft.
