W.W.II. RAF "Mk.1." Aircraft Clock. c.1939

W.W.II. period Royal Air Force issue Mk.1. aircraft clock. Dating from 1939.
This large clock was made by by "T. & F. Mercer, St. Albans" (England). It has a cast metal body and has a lockable bezel which opens on a hinge. The bezel bears the following markings, "Ref. No. 6A/433 - Serial No. 143/39 - T. & F. Mercer. St. Albans. - Clock Mk. 1.". The back of the clock is stamped with the Kings crown Air Ministry mark. It has a cream coloured dial with subsidiary seconds, black numerals and a 24 hour chapter in red. The clock is wound using the key hole on the dial (comes with original key). This clock is fitted with a nice quality movement which has a jewelled platform escapement. Overall width : 167mm. Nice condition. Good working order.
