Rare W.W.II. Army Air Corps Sweetheart Brooch

Rare, nice quality, sterling silver and enamel sweetheart brooch in the form of the British Army Air Corps Badge. Brooches such as this were known as "sweethearts" as they were purchased by servicemen to give to their loved ones.

Nicely modelled silver badge surmounted by the British royal (king's) crown and beautifully decorated in red and blue enamel. The back is stamped "sterling silver". Overall length : 51mm. Very good condition. A hard to find sweetheart brooch.
