Vintage 'Battle of London' Commemorative Medal

Large silver plated medal made in commemoration of London surviving the aerial assaults of W.W.II. They were manufactured after the war by the medallists, "Pinches of London" and were sold to raise money for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.
The front of this attractive medal is decorated with the image of flames surrounding St. Paul's Cathedral and an enemy aircraft caught in searchlight beams. Surrounding this is the text "Battle of London - Sept. 1940 - 1941 May". The reverse bears the image of the Tower of London with a German V.1. flying bomb overhead. This is surrounded by the caption, "Battle of London - June 1944 August". Diameter : 57mm. Good condition (slight wear to plating).
