W.W.II. Period Silver RAF 'Air Gunner' Sweetheart Brooch

Attractive, W.W.II. period, sterling silver and enamel sweetheart brooch made in the form of a Royal Air Force Air Gunner "half wings" badge. These brooches were known as "sweethearts" as they were purchased by airmen to give to their loved ones.

Nicely modelled wing with blue enamel letters "AG" within a green enamel laurel wreath. The back is stamped, "Sterling". Length : 48mm. Nice condition. RAF "half wings" sweetheart brooches are harder to come by than the pilot wings versions.

Comes with a modern display box.
