Rare Early Silver Zeppelin LZ. 3 Flight Medal. 1909

Nice quality, rare, silver coin commemorating the trial flight of the German Zeppelin L.Z.3 between Friedrichshafen and Munich on the 1st April 1909.
The front of this attractive medal bears the image the airship LZ 3 flying over Munich's cathedral. Above is the inscription "1. April 1909 - Friedrichshafen - München". The medal is marked with the sculptors initials, "K.Goetz". The reverse shows the founder of the Zeppelin company, Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin and around the edge, the caption, "München's Eherenbürger" (Munich's Honoured Citizen). Diameter : 35mm. Good condition (light surface wear).
