Enamel 'Cobham's Flying Circus' Lapel Badge. c.1932

Original gilt brass and enamel lapel badge dating from around 1932. It was made as a souvenir of the famous British record breaking aviator, Sir Alan Cobham's 'National Aviation Display' touring air show. At the time, this was more popularly known as 'Cobham's Flying Circus'.
This badge is made from gilt brass in the form of an aeroplane and bears the name "Cobham" across the wings, which are decorated in red enamel. The reverse is marked with he maker's name, "H.W. Miller Ltd, Birmingham" and with a registration number which dates the design to 1930. Wingspan : 27mm. Good condition (slight wear to gilding).
