Nice quality, solid bronze medal depicting an early airship. Made in 1900 to commemorate the Paris Exposition.

The front of this very attractive medal bears the image of a goddess and a rising sun in the background containing the date '1900'. Around the rim is the caption, "L'Exposition de Paris". The medal is signed with the artist's name, "Georges Lemaire". The reverse is decorated with various items relating to science and industry including an early dirigible. Above is an ornate, unengraved cartouche. The rim of the medal is stamped, "Bronze". Diameter : 53.5mm. Nice condition.
