W.W.I. German Silver London Zeppelin Raid Medal. 1915

Nice quality, 800 grade solid silver medal commemorating the the German Zeppelin raids over London on the 17th & 18th August 1915.

The front of this attractive medal bears the image of two German zeppelins bombing London with Tower Bridge in the foreground. Below is the inscription "Luftangriff Auf London - 17, 18. 8. 1915" (Air raid on London - 17th & 18th August 1915). The medal is marked with the sculptors initials, "Fr. Eue". The reverse shows the founder of the Zeppelin company, Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin and around the edge, his name, "Graf Zeppelin". The rim is stamped, "Silber 800" (Silver 800 Grade). Diameter : 34mm. Nice condition.
