W.W.II. Curtiss-Wright Production Award Medal. 1942

Large, heavy medal presented to employees of the Curtiss-Wright Corporation in recognition of their participation in earning a prestigious war-time production award. Dated August 20, 1942.
This attractive medal appears to be made from copper with a bronze patina. The front bears the image of the Army & Navy 'E' award pennant with a P-40 Warhawk and a C-46 Commando above and below. Around the rim is the caption, "Curtiss-Wright Corporation - Airplane Division Buffalo N.Y. - Plants One and Two", and the date "August 20, 1942". The reverse is marked, "Presented In Appreciation Of Your Participation In The Earning Of This Production Award - Curtiss-Wright Corp. Airplane Division Buffalo N.Y" and has the Curtiss-Wright insignia. Diameter : 76mm. Good condition (a couple of bumps to edge).
