Silver Graf Zeppelin Airship Medal. 1928

Nice quality, 900 grade silver medal commemorating the launch of the German airship, LZ127 "Graf Zeppelin" and the the 30th anniversary of the Zeppelin company. Manufactured by the Prussian State Mint in 1928.
The front of this attractive medal bears the image of the founder of the company, Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin and the chairman, Dr. Hugo Eckener. Around the rim are their names and the dates 1898-1928 (1898 - the year the company was founded). The medal is marked with the sculptors initials, "I.B.". The reverse shows the airship LZ.127 "Graf Zeppelin" flying over the sea and is surrounded by the caption "Luftschiff LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin" (Luftschiff = Airship). The rim is stamped, "Preuss. Staatsmünze. Silber 900 Fein" (Prussian State Coin. Fine Silver 900). Diameter : 36mm. Nice condition (light surface wear - small flat spot on edge).
