W.W.II. Period Aluminium Spitfire Model

Beautifully hand fashioned model of a Supermarine Spitfire fighter dating from W.W.II. Models such as this were supposedly made by air force ground crew in their spare time, using surplus or scrap aircraft materials.

This very attractive model is exceptionally well modelled from a solid piece of aluminium and depicts the aircraft in a diving position. The model is very nicely finished and is mounted on it's original black painted wooden base. Aircraft wingspan : 150mm. Good condition (nice patina to metal, slight ageing to paint on base).
