W.W.I. Period "Willow Art" Crested China Aeroplane. c.1914

"crested" china model of an early monoplane dating from around 1914.
This model is based on a Bleriot monoplane which as well as being a popular
aircraft with sporting pilots between 1909 & 1914, was also used by the
allies during the early stages of W.W.I. The underside of this model bears the
maker's mark of "Willow Art China, Longton, Staffordshire". It has a
glazed white body with gilt detail and still has it's original china propeller.
In the centre of it's wings is a hand painted coat of arms of the village of
Cobham (Kent, England). Overall length : 145mm. Excellent condition.
