Silver Plated "1934 Kimberly Air Rally" Trophy

Good quality, English made, silver plated trophy presented to Lieut. J. Rodwell-King for winning the "B" Pilot's Race of the 1934 Kimberley Air Rally.
This two handled cup is engraved with the following inscription, "Kimberley Air Rally - 'B' Pilot's Race 1934 - Won By Lieut. J. Rodwell-King". Comes with original wooden base. Overall height (including base) : 255mm. Good condition (recently re-plated).
This trophy is believed to be one of the prizes of the 1st National Air Rally held at Kimberley, South Africa in 1934. Reference to this event can be found on the following web site :
