Scarce Early Board Game "Jack & Jane In An Aeroplane". c.1914

A very charming, aviation related board game entitled, "Jack & Jane in an Aeroplane". Dating from around 1914.

This game consists of a beautifully decorated box and game board and bone die (according to the instructions, counters were not supplied as the players were expected to improvise). Made in Bavaria by the British games manufacturer, "Spears". The fact that this game is marked, "Made in Bavaria" suggests that it must have been manufactured before the outbreak of W.W.I. Items made in Germany for the British market after W.W.I. were normally marked, "Foreign Made". Overall length of box : 305mm. Good condition for it's age (replacement base of box, some damage to box lid including a couple of missing sides and slight staining to box label and game board).
