W.W.I. Period Sterling "The Allies Aeroplane" Brooch. c.1915

Very beautiful, W.W.I. period, sterling silver and multicoloured enamel brooch in the form an aeroplane. Entitled, "The Allies Aeroplane". Dating from 1915.

This nice quality brooch is made from sterling silver and is decorated with multicoloured enamel with the flags of the allied forces of the early part of W.W.I. (Great Britain, Belgium, France, Japan & Russia). The plane is fitted with a tiny silver propeller as well as rigging. The back is fitted with a brooch pin and is stamped, "The Allies Aeroplane" and "Sterling". It is also marked with the maker's initials, "W.W. Ltd" and with the British design registration number, "644982" which corresponds to the year 1915. Overall length : 38.5mm. Nice condition. Comes with period jewelers box.
