Genuine W.W.II. period, sterling silver, United States Air Force Aerial Gunner's qualification wings.

This high quality badge was made by Meyer of New York, is of a two piece construction and is mounted on it's original brooch pin. The "winged bullet" motif is mounted onto an "observer" background. The back is stamped "sterling" and with the Meyer maker's mark. Length : 76mm. Nice condition (good patination).

This badge was adopted on 29th April 1943 and was only awarded to qualified gunners who were regular members of combat aircrew.
