Early "Lufthansa" Stick Pin. 1930's

Early gilt brass sick pin made for Lufthansa.

This stick pin is made from gilt brass in the form of Lufthansa's stylized crane design and is mounted on it's original steel pin. Overall length : 50mm. Nice condition (slight wear to gilding).

"Deutsche Luft Hansa Aktiengesellschaft" was formed in 1926 out of a merger between "Deutsche Aero Lloyd" (DAL) and "Junkers Luftverkehr". The company was renamed "Lufthansa" in 1933. The crane logo which was inherited from DAL was originally designed in 1919 by Otto Firle.
